Frizzle
Historical Origin
Asia (widespread) · Asian
The Frizzle is defined by a genetic mutation that causes each feather to curl outward and forward, giving the bird an explosion of ruffled plumage unlike anything else in the poultry world. Gentle and people-friendly, they are kept almost exclusively as pets and garden ornamentals. Their unusual feathering provides poor insulation, so they need extra shelter in cold or wet weather.
Temperament & Behavior
This breed is classified as docile with a noise level of quiet and poor foraging ability. Broodiness tendency: often.
