The Holland is one of America's rarest breeds and the only American breed developed specifically to lay white eggs while also being a good dual-purpose bird. Developed in the 1930s by crossing Dutch breeds with Leghorns and others, they are calm, cold hardy, and productive. A critical conservation breed that deserves far wider recognition.
